SHIPPING COSTS ARE INCREASING.

"Wait a minute!", you say. "The banner on your website says Free Shipping!"

It does. It is. For standard shipping.

Standard shipping has always been free and will continue to be free at Sailorgirl Jewelry. Standard shipping is by regular mail (Canada Post or USPS to the USA) and is not tracked within Canada.

Standard shipping SHOULD take 3 - 10 business days within Canada. Unfortunately Canada Post is currently so overwhelmed with mail that 3 - 10 business days has become 3 - 10? 15? xx? days. While packages are almost never lost (2 in the last 5 years), sometimes they just take a lot longer than either of us would like. Sometimes you might luck out and get it within 2 days.

This is completely beyond my control. I really really wish it were different, but I wish a lot of other things were also different and they aren't.

If your order is over $150 I will automatically upgrade you to RUSH shipping, which is tracked and insured.

If you need your jewelry fast you can upgrade to RUSH shipping. Please keep in mind that Canada Post removed the guaranteed delivery times for RUSH shipping a year ago. That said, I haven't had a problem with RUSH shipping taking longer than expected.

RUSH shipping to Ontario and Quebec is now $12. RUSH shipping to all other provinces is $18. RUSH shipping to the USA is $25.

All of this brings me to the penguins. For many years I have joked about having my own flock of carrier pigeons and of course I would knit them adorable little Sailorgirl sweaters to keep them warm in Canadian winters. It turns out that birdy sweaters aren't a new thing at all. These sweaters were made by Alfred Date, a 109 year old Australian man (he passed away in 2016). The penguins were victims of an oil pill and the sweaters were to keep them from ingesting the oil.
