southern ocean earrings
Waves the size of a 3 story building, icebergs, horizontal snow, and the rigging is straining to breaking point in the howling wind. I’m riveted to the internet watching the participants of the Vendee Globe as they sail through the southern ocean in the worlds longest, most difficult race. I’m mesmerized by the primal rawness of this part of the world. Those waves! I had to try to capture this in glass.
My hands made these southern ocean earrings. Each bead measures approximately 15 x 15 mm and they hang from sterling silver ear wires in your choice of styles. The total length of the earrings are approximately 30 mm.
My hands made these beads. I use Effetre glass, a little CIM and occasionally Vetrofond. All my beads are kiln annealed, thoroughly cleaned and inspected. There is no paint on any of my beads, just glass upon glass upon glass.
Please remember the jewelry looks larger than life in the pictures which is why it is important to check the size. I have tried to capture the colours as accurately as possible but many monitors vary.
Looking for a necklace to match these? I have a mini one or a large one!
