Shipping during the CANADA POST STRIKE
Well the timing of this is not ideal.
Canada Post is on strike. It's the holiday season. Here's what I am doing for the duration.
I ship mainly with Canada Post as the prices are very reasonable for my jewelry. This is how I am able to offer free shipping on EVERY purchase. I have always offered free shipping and as a customer I know how much I appreciate when I get free shipping. I am also aware that many of you have either seen me at a show in a town I am exhibiting at, or found me online and you can’t come to my studio to pick up.
With the strike there are other options although for rural addresses there are mighty few other options. Unfortunately the other options are not reasonably priced.
During the Canada Post strike I have had to implement a minimum threshold for free shipping. This by no means covers the cost, we are splitting that.
I really really really hope this is resolved quickly not just for my sake, but for all the small businesses like mine who depend on this service to keep our businesses alive. Also for all the customers (me included) who were counting on shopping online for this upcoming holiday season. Yes I do shop local when I can however I also support some small businesses that aren’t within my area.
I am also making a promise here. You know how sometimes prices rise and it’s because of some emergency, yet when the emergency is over the prices don’t go down? That will not happen at Sailorgirl Jewelry. I promise. When the strike is resolved I will remove the threshold and return to Free Shipping on all orders.
