One day when out sailing, I learnt what a waterspout is. A waterspout when viewed on TV on the weather channel is fascinating. In person, well... let's just say that my immense respect for Mother Nature went up a further notch. I made a glass ocean waterspout to celebrate that we went run down by this and I learnt something new! There is exactly one of these.
This ocean waterspout is approximately 20mm x 30mm and hangs from a 18" an sterling silver snake chain. If you'd like a different length chain, please leave a note when you check out. Lengths available are: 16", 18", 20", 22" and 24".
Each bead is individually made by me! There is no paint on any of my beads, just glass upon glass upon glass. Each bead is 4 - 8 layers of glass. Around layer 3 I roll the bead in fine silver leaf, then encase it in more glass. When the bead is large I mash it flat so that the silver disperses. This is what gives my beads the shimmering transparency reminiscent of the ocean in sunshine.
Please remember the jewelry looks larger than life in the pictures which is why it is important to check the size. I have tried to capture the colours as accurately as possible but many monitors vary.
