In these interesting times that we live in, I am so grateful that Canada is my home. On July 1, 2017 I shall raise my glass and celebrate the 150th birthday of this large, tolerant, gun-free, tree filled and glorious land I call my adopted home. A land of opportunites, freedom, landscapes and most of all, Canadians. Oh, and snow, too bad about that part.
While celebrating I shall wear a piece from my O Canada collection, a limited collection just for this special day. Happy jewelry for a very happy day.
My hands made this O Canada! Necklace. The O Canada polka dot beads vary in size from 9mm x 7 mm to 13mm x 11mm. There is a fun sterling silver curved bar between each bead. The necklace closes with a sterling silver lobster claw. The necklace has an extension so that it is adjustable between 18" and 21".
Each bead is individually made by me! I use Effetre glass, a little CIM and occasionally Vetrofond. There is no paint on any of my beads, just glass upon glass upon glass. All my beads are kiln annealed so that they are durable, thoroughly cleaned and inspected.
Please remember the jewelry looks larger than life in the pictures which is why it is important to check the size. I have tried to capture the colours as accurately as possible but many monitors vary.
