Waves the size of a 3 story building, icebergs, horizontal snow, and the rigging is straining to breaking point in the howling wind. I’m riveted to the internet watching the participants of the Vendee Globe as they sail through the southern ocean in the worlds longest, most difficult race. I’m mesmerized by the primal rawness of this part of the world. Those waves! I had to try to capture this in glass.

My hands made this Southern Ocean bracelet. The beads are approximately 10mm x 8mm. The central bead measures approximately 15mm x 15mm. The bracelet closes with a sterling silver toggle clasp. It measures approximately 7 3/4” and fits a  medium wrist. 

Each bead is individually made by me! I use Effetre glass, a little CIM and occasionally Vetrofond. There is no paint on any of my beads, just glass upon glass upon glass. All my beads are kiln annealed so that they are durable, thoroughly cleaned and inspected.

Please remember the jewelry looks larger than life in the pictures which is why it is important to check the size. I have tried to capture the colours as accurately as possible but many monitors vary.
